There are many challenges that have to be overcome when planning and executing a shoot. From finding the right model that will fit your vision, logistics, scouting, permits, and so on... But when everything comes together, it's all well worth the effort.
I recently came across the Instagram profile of a local model who had taken some time off from modeling but was on path to getting back. She fit perfectly into my idea for a photo shoot I've been having for some time. Along with a friend and fellow photographer, Emily Prado of Emily Rachel Photography, we set off early in the a.m. to shoot.
The location was on South Padre Island's Isla Blanca, a great location to shoot.. that is, if you get there before everyone else does. It was an early morning set up to not only beat the crowds but to get that amazing light you only really get in the mornings or evenings. The rest was a breeze. Sure.. water was a bit chilly, but we pushed through and I'm very happy with the final images.
